WHAT IS A FACIAL?

A facial is a service that is composed of many different flowing steps that uses customized professional products to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, extract, nourish, feed, moisturize, and lift the skin! Facials can focus on specific conditions or anti-aging goals, or just be focused on a deliciously relaxing experience that also rocks your skins basic health and glow at the same time!

Facials are a genuinely great escape from the world and can both treat skin conditions and also lead to the most graceful path of aging while helping you feel pampered and deeply relaxed and nourished. Tamara finds that if she is dealing with anxiety or too much thinking a facial calms her even more than a massage as the majority of attention is up around the head where the thoughts are all consuming- can’t be consumed by them when yummy hands, scents, textures, temperatures and feelings are swirling around one’s head with love and attention! In her early days of becoming an Aesthetician she received a facial from a friend that completely lifted her out of a depression, and that is when she knew she was in the right field!

Let us know if you have any particular desires with your facial, as some people prefer deep cleansing facials with focus on purity and extractions, others love the relaxation and mind clearing of the gentle flowing massage around the head and neck, down the arms and perhaps into the feet… others are looking for as much anti-aging equations with fancy cosmeceuticals and even machine add ons such as micro current, microdermabrasion or radio frequency, to name a few, to further enhance penetration and lift… some just adore the plumb nourished glow that a facial will bring to spirit and appearance! But Everyone loves the wonderful experience they will experience under our intelligently loving hands and intelligent intentions!

Healing Wizdom is the perfect place to get your first or 50th facial, we provide the same great service time and time again, enhanced by Tamara’s healing artist techniques, and have many long term clients who choose to receive them on a regular basis. Tamara has a client from her earliest professional days who has been a monthly regular since she began in 1999! This wonderful lady is a top PHD Psychologist at the VA and she has often shared that she considers her facial to be ‘her therapy’ and she often shares how many compliments she gets on her skin even though she is now retiring and started her journey due to complications from acne scarring that bothered her very much!

FACIALS FOR MEN?

Absolutely! Many a man loves a facial, and some come in on a regular basis to keep up with their grooming desires. Men need to feel and look great in their skin too, and fellows, you can enjoy the experience of clearing and nourishing the skin just as much as your girl does and facials can also help clear and manage ingrown hairs and irritation that can come from shaving! We are happy to provide great Facials for the all the men, boyfriends and husbands of Reno! Although not as common, we have had regular male clients for facials and Tamara has had male massage clients with pain and when she threw on a lil skin refresh they loved it and requested it become part of their regular routine.

HOW OFTEN?

Facials are recommended once every four to six weeks, more or less frequently depending on your skin type, goals and desires. For deeper resurfacing with greater ability to actually change the texture, soften wrinkles or clear pigment problems, in other word for true deeper and longer lasting change to the skin, a series of deeper exfoliating facials including microdermabrasion, peels, and machine based facials are recommended in a series of 3, 6 or 9, one to two weeks apart. We often offer discounts on these series. Please feel free to ask your aesthetician to guide you in the right direction to reach your skin goals.

A young and healthy skin turns over every 25-30 days and that time continues to get longer as we age. A facial or series can help in this turnover process and keep the skin looking fresher and younger. We do not want to allow the old skin cells to pile up and dull and age the complexion- talk to Tamara about why she is an exfoliation ‘junkie,’ and why you should become an intelligent one too!

Remember the products you use every-day are the real key to your best and happiest skin; your esthetician will be happy to guide you onto your best routine and which professional products will be best to treat and maintain your skin to best reach your skin care goals, while staying true to your budget.
